Each area probably has different name for Garcinia Atroviridis, but Indonesians especially in Sumatra call it as Asam Gelugur. While Malaysians call it with asam keping. This fruit is said as a family of mangosteen, but it has similarity with orange.
Asam keping itself is not only sour, but it riches with vitamin C.
It is not only used as a spice, but it is also used as home remedies for various diseases. The main content of asam gelugur is hydroxycitric or HCA. There was a researcher who made a study of this content. He was impressed by the ability of HCA to suppress appetite and to break down fat in body. With these two benefits, asam keping can help you lose weight.
